Since early July, leasing companies are faced with a new challenge, when the pollution tax for motor vehicles registration was introduced, which obligate them to make changes in business strategies.

Thus, the specialists opine that the leasing segment for the used cars will gain momentum, augmenting the percentage in the automotive leasing market.

From July 1st, the registration of a new motor vehicle or the reentering of an used car in circulation generated the payment of the automobile pollution tax, which is calculated after the Euro norms and the emission of CO₂, specified by RAR in Vehicle Identity Card.

Based on engine pollution grade, the tax can be diminished according to vehicle’s age, the annual medium usage, the general technical state and the endowment level.

It is notable that car leasing market growth was slow in comparison to the previous years, while the equipments and real-estate segment acquires an increased percentage in leasing society’s portfolio.

So, it's expected that the real-estate, the equipments and the infrastructure will raise the leasing market, reaching € 6 billion this year.
